Response times from ensembles of accumulators

Our paper “Response times from ensembles of accumulators” was published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the USA today.  Using computer simulations, the paper investigated how two radically different explanations of response time distributions – one based on cognitive models from mathematical psychology, another based on single-cell recordings from non-human primate neurophysiology – can both be correct. David Salisbury from Vanderbilt University wrote a news piece about it.
